Sniper [WoESniper]

Snipers are great DPS with sharpshoot for any guild. Snipers are useful in any given situation. As a sniper, you're quite frail (since most of the time if you want to be useful you will not have a thara). As a sniper you need to recognize the WoE scene and adjust your gameplay accordingly. Being too aggressive on a sniper is the worst thing you can do. You need to realize that although you might have a devo, if you can't survive for even 1 second, what makes you think your devo can survive for more than 3, even if it has 3x your HP. The greatest asset snipers bring to GVG is removing Kaupe and statusing at long range.

General responsibilities:

1. Friend the SPP Creators before WoE. Use "/hi FCP PLEASE" if you need FCP.

2. Use your range effectively. You don't always need to Sharpshoot. With the recent SS range change it's more costly to SS now. Switch to a status bow and Arrow Shower at the tip of the enemy block. Aim for areas with high concentrations of wizards and creators when using silence, aim for areas with high concentrations of professors and creators when using confusion. If you see an enemy leak out between the guilds or a DPS Stalker/gypsy/OLP use them as a target for SS, you can hit the whole guild behind them without leaving the stack, add extremely helpful DPS, and most importantly(Especially on gypsies) HITLOCK.

3. Helpful Status Bows:

- Earthen Bow w/ Stone Arrows carded with Metaller/Requiem.
&
- 4x Requiem Bow w/ Silence Arrows. Target front line.
OR
-2x Metaller/2x Requiem w/ Silence Arrows. Target front line.
OR
- 4x Metaller w/ Silence Arrows. Target AD Chems/DPS wizards.

Any combination of those cards is helpful in 2x2x format or with Silence Arrows. I simply prefer stacking status for a greater chance of them procing.

4. You should not be in the front line unless pushing/rushing, keep your focus on the front, and continue to status. If anyone gets inside the guild, consider them already dead. Try to stay in the middle of the guild, near the DLP Prof.
Exception: One sniper will be specified to use arrow shower on the guild to cancel skills/recall. You will know if this is you, make sure you keep up BoS and watch very carefully within the guild.

5. Ensure you stay fully buffed on your sniper (IC, True Sight, etc).
Note: Be careful if you're using Wind Walk, it should NEVER be used during field battles because the animation prevents party members from using skills temporarily.

6. Do not be aggressive. Pinpoint ranged damage, and statusing are you #1 priorities. Try not to misclick. Do not move out of the block. Stay behind the offensive profs and dont leak out.

7. One of you will be assigned to be on detect duty. Keep your eyes out and BoS up for any enemy GTers and spam detect on them. Also spam Detect on any enemy character to gets too close. This will make it more difficult for them to hide, as well as make it easier for the Creators to drop them.

8. One of you will be assigned to falcon assault duty. Pinpoint where the professors are focusing and destroy creators as you see them get dispelled with 5 Falcon Assaults per second.

Push responsibilities:

1. When given the order to push and the countdown do not hesitate.

2. Rebuff yourself during the countdown.

3. When rushing, switch to your damage bow.

4. Walk in range and begin using Sharpshoot. Focus your fire where the leader tells you to focus.

5. After there is noone in range, switch back to status bow, and continue statusing with Arrow Shower. Do not leak forward. If you find yourself being targetted move back, rebuff, and continue (if we're still pushing).

6. Help to hold the line until the next order to push is given.

Rush/wipe responsibilities:

1. When given the order to rush/wipe and the countdown do not hesitate.

2. Rebuff yourself during the countdown.

3. When rushing, switch to your damage bow.

4. Walk in range and begin using Sharpshoot. Focus your fire where the leader tells you to focus. Try to pick off Creators.

5. Continue SSing and choose targets to maximize your damage, do not stop until the other guild has wiped. If you find yourself targetted move back, rebuff, and continue.

Counter-rush responsibilities:

1. Do not panic. Do not retreat. Stay in a tight group.

2. Switch to damage bow.

3. Focus your SS on Creators in the middle, and try to maximize the AoE of SS.

4. Keep your focus at the front of the guild.

5. Go to town if told to. Not before.

The key to playing a sniper effectively is to know when to sharpshoot, detect, falcon assault, or Status via Arrow Shower. Remember to use your long range to your own advantage, and if you do decide to SS, make sure you're properly supported by the rest of the guild in the process.

Traps

For where to trap, check the castle guide here.

At this point i'll only want you to use ankle snare when trapping, usually only one sniper will be in charge of trapping.

That is all, read and learn.
